Indications

1. Abnormal inflammation
2. Acute appendicitis
3. Abscess abdomen/inflammation
4. Fever unknown origin
5. Chrohn’s disease

Radiopharmaceuticals

10 mCi 99m Tc HMPAO (Ceretec) WBC

Patient Preparation

No prep
Abdomen free of barium

Procedure

1. Draw 60 cc heparinized blood from patient.
2. Send to Nuclear Pharmacy for tagging of WhiteBloodCells to Tc99m Ceretec.
3. Anterior chest and abdomen
   Static anterior/posterior every 15 minutes up to 60 minutes
   3-hour anterior/posterior delay
   24-hour anterior/posterior delay
4. Whole body
