Speech / Language Pathology
Speech/language pathology services are offered to inpatients, outpatients and home care patients. Comprehensive treatment plans are developed for individuals of all ages with speech, swallowing, or cognitive problems.
Experienced and certified speech-language pathologists work with patients with the following diagnoses:
- Aphasia
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Stuttering disorders
- Brain injury
- Laryngeal cancer
- Voice disorders
- Motor speech disorders
- Cognitive deficits
- Swallowing disorders
- Tracheotomy
- Stroke
- Parkinson's Disease
- Articulation disorders
- Language delay
Program Goals
- Facilitate functional communication skills
- Facilitate safe oral feeding/swallowing
- Educate patient and family on compensatory strategies and home programs

- Receptive language therapy (listening and reading)
- Expressive language therapy (speaking and writing)
- Speech production therapy
- Pre-operative counseling and post-operative treatment
- Voice therapy
- Stuttering therapy
- Cognitive therapy (memory, problem solving, reasoning)

- Modified Barium Swallow Studies

- Swallowing therapy
- Phonology treatment
