BAT-CAM Image Guided Treatment

BAT-CAM (Bimodal Acquisition & Targeting Camera System) is an advanced technology that helps pinpoint radiation treatment to areas such as the prostate more accurately and safely.

  • It is quick, non-invasive and causes no discomfort.
  • It decreases the chances for debilitating side effects of radiation treatment.

How does the BAT-CAM improve treatment?

Studies show that the prostate moves from day-to-day. In the past, these daily uncertainties in position have forced physicians to include large margins in the radiation field to ensure complete tumor coverage.

Today, BAT-CAM allows us to pinpoint target location on a treatment-by-treatment basis, protecting outlying tissue and decreasing side effects and complications.

Who are the best candidates for BAT-CAM?

BAT ultrasound-based targeting is ideal for prostate cancer patients who have been prescribed radiation therapy. In addition, breast, pancreas, liver and bladder cancers are also being treated using BAT targeting.
