CT Simulation

CT simulation provides optimum set-up accuracy for patients who will be receiving radiation therapy. This process allows the radiation oncologist to design a treatment plan unique to each patient’s anatomy.

How does CT simulation work?

A CT scan locates the tumor precisely and the information is entered into the computer system. The CT scan tumor location works on the principle of triangulation – given three reference points, the exact location of anything can be computed. In the case of the CT scan, however, there are typically 1000 samplings rather than three.
