Meet Jim Cooper of Portsmouth: Church Choir Director, Giving Community Member and SOMC Cancer Success Story.

Three years ago, Jim was scheduled to leave for a mission trip to Honduras and was devastated when his physician told him he couldn’t go. Blood work revealed that Jim had Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. He considered tests and treatment in Columbus but after a painless spinal tap at the SOMC Cancer Center, he decided to stay close to home.

Jim is grateful for the physicians, nurses and staff of the Cancer Center who alleviated his concerns and greeted him with warm smiles. Now, Jim is well, singing his heart out and planning another mission trip.
