Hands of Hope
Hands of Hope is a grant program at SOMC that is funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Columbus Affiliate. This is the fourth year we have been awarded this grant to provide a Breast Health Navigator Nurse to guide patients through diagnostic testing and oncology treatment. Our nurse navigator also provides general breast health education with up to date materials from the Komen foundation.
Through the grant we also provide screening mammograms to eligible uninsured, or underinsured women, through a screening process managed by our Breast Health Navigator.
We have resources to assist with breast biopsies of uninsured women, and other diagnostic testing as needed.
Eligibility is determined by:
- Income no greater than 200% above Federal Poverty Guidelines
- No health insurance of any type
- No Medicare or Medicaid
Services for mammography and biopsy are provided as long as the funds remain. For this reason, services should be coordinated with the Hands of Hope Breast Health Navigator Kimberlee Richendollar RN, BSN before they are performed.
Kimberlee can be reached at (740) 356-7465 (PINK)
