Barb Free, RN

In 1966, SOMC Home Health became the first hospital-based home care service in the state of Ohio. Today, it serves more than 1500 patients throughout Scioto County in Ohio and Lewis and Greenup counties in Kentucky. Through this unique program, patients receive skilled nursing care, rehabilitative therapies, medical and social services, and home health aide services in their homes.

SOMC Home Health is accredited by The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and has national rankings in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction. We serve patients across the life span, with a primary focus on the older adult population. Services are ordered by the patient's physician, and our clinicians and physicians work as a team to achieve the best outcomes for the patient.
