Surgical Vascular Care (One West)
The Surgical Vascular Care Unit (formerly One West) at Southern Ohio Medical Center is a 30-bed unit staffed with 64 professionally trained staff members who are committed to providing the highest quality of nursing care to the vascular and general surgery patient. Our average daily census is 24 patients with an average length of stay of 3.9 days.
The Surgical Vascular Care Unit employs a multidisciplinary team approach, incorporating professionals from many other specialties to plan optimal care for our patients. This multidisciplinary team is comprised of physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, patient relations, registered dieticians, therapists (occupational, speech, physical), chaplains, and clerical staff.

Our specialties include: vascular surgeries, general surgeries, wound management and ostomy patients. We develop a coordinated individualized plan of care for each patient and family from the point of admission to discharge providing physical, emotional, social and spiritual support.
