Kids’ Events Announced

 

Tween Lego Group

Tweens ages 8-12 are invited to the South Webster library location August 28th at 4pm for a Lego building competition.  For more information, call the South Webster Branch Library at 778-2122.

 

Children Sign Language Basic Class

Ages 5-11 can join us to broaden basic sign language skills in an open and positive environment.  Join us at the Portsmouth location , August 29 at 4 pm.  It is free of charge but you must sign up in advance by calling 354-5688 ext. 0 or visiting the Reference Desk at the Main library.

 

Story times

Storytimes will resume in the fall.

 

Upcoming Adult/Teen Activities Announced

 

Create a Heritage Album

Scrapbooking with a twist of family history! Bring an album and photos, and we supply paper and other materials.  The meeting will take place at the Portsmouth library location August 26 at 2pm.  Meetings will continue each month. This program is FREE, but please call Local History Department to pre-register. Meetings are held in the Copley room at the main location. For more information call Local History at 354-5304.

 

Creative Writing Group

The Creative Writing Group will meet at the Portsmouth library location Tuesday, August 26th from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

 

Yoga

The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting its Yoga group at 10am in the Copley Meeting Room on Tuesday,  August 26.

 

Basic Crochet

The South Webster library location will be hosting a basic crochet class August 26 at 5:30 p.m. The class will be crocheting dish cloths. Participants are asked to bring a size H crochet hook and a 2 oz. skein of Peaches & Crème cotton in your choice of colors.  There will be limited available seating, please stop to pre-register, fee is required at sign-up. Movie Trivia Night

Join us August 29th for our first movie trivia game night here at the New Boston Library. We will have light refreshments and a prize for the winner. The event starts at 3:30pm, adults only.

 

Technology Classes Offered

The Information Technology Department of the Portsmouth Public Library will be offering a variety of computer classes this week. The schedule is as follows.

August 26- Social Networking at 1pm and Tablet at 4pm

August 27- Job Searching at 11am and Basic Computers at 1pm

August 28 Windows 8 at 11am and Computers for Seniors at 3pm
