Event Monitoring

An event recording is a method of recording an EKG or heart rhythm during an experienced symptom. Electrodes are placed on the chest and connected to wires of a recorder that is worn for up to 30 days. If a symptom is experienced the patient presses a button that allows the recorder to record the EKG several seconds before the button is pressed and after the button is pressed. A physician reads the EKGs. Thirty minutes should be allowed for the preparation for this test.
