How to Bid (Internal Applicants)

Bid on the Intranet

From the hospital intranet scroll down to hot links, to the first bullet “bid slip”, click on bid slip and it will take you to the “apply online screen”.

Search for Jobs

At the “apply on line” screen, you can search for open jobs by selecting the appropriate facility, job category or job status or you can click on “search” to view all posted jobs.

View Jobs

View the job(s) you are interested in by clicking on the job title. You can select multiple jobs by placing a check mark in the box out beside the job title and clicking view selected job(s).

Complete the Bid

When you select a position you would like to bid for, click on the “current employees click here to apply on-line”. This function is an employee bid slip.

Follow the instructions provided. If this is your first time bidding for a job at SOMC you must register a username and password. You must remember your password and username when using this on-line application process. If you forget your username or password click on “forgot username and Password” to retrieve. We do not have access to your personal information.

When you have completed the application and submit it make sure you get a
message that says “Your information has been submitted. Thank you for applying for the position: (job title).” Also if you are using a valid e-mail you will get an e-mail letting you know that we received your bid slip and that if you are eligible to bid on this position that we will forward your bid slip to the interviewing manager.

You may use the copy function to transfer your information from one bid slip to another. Please make sure to verify that your bid slip is completely filled out and accurate.

Important - Please Read!

After submitting a bid slip, you will advance to another screen that has a message confirming you applied for a “specific job”. If you do not see this message, your bid slip is not complete & you will be directed to the beginning of the bid slip you just submitted.

You will see items in red that need to be completed and then you must submit the bid slip again.

You will receive a message at your e-mail address that informs you that your bid slip has been received by our office. If you do not get this e-mail, your bid slip was not accepted by our online system.

When to Bid Online

You can apply on-line via your computer 24 hours a day. Our employment office located at 1825 Oakland Avenue, Portsmouth, OH 45662 has 3 computer terminals in our lobby that you can use to submit an application. We will provide you assistance with the application process if needed. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

I’ve bid for several jobs, now what?

The Recruiters will forward your bid slip(s) to the Manager that is interviewing for the position. The Manager will contact you to set up an interview. You may apply for multiple positions.

We post new positions on Wednesdays. Our job listing may change as positions are filled.

How do I check on my bid slip?

You are the only person that can check the status of your bid slip(s). Go to the apply online page. Under the search button you will see a gray box that says bid slip status, click on “log in now”, enter your username and password and select “application history status” to find out the progress of your bid slip. Sign up for our job agent to receive notification of future job openings.
