Southern Ohio Medical Center held the first annual Diversity Celebration on Jan. 17, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. SOMC honored multiculturalism with ethnic food samples, education about cultures and traditions and a special tribute video. Employees and visitors were invited to place pushpins on maps of the United States and the world to represent their heritage. The maps created a visual of the diversity within the SOMC workplace and the community. Shown above is Sister Marie Glennon, chaplain at SOMC, displaying Ireland as her birthplace.
