Three North is a 68-bed medical-surgical unit. Our mission is to provide the highest quality cost-effective service to all our customers in a friendly, positive manner.

We provide nursing care and instruction to the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. Our surgical focus is the orthopedic patient. We maintain a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 during day and evening shifts and 1:7 during midnight shifts.

We use an integrated approach to patient care. Our staff is comprised of RNs, LPNs, Nursing Assistants, Unit Clerks and a Unit Educator. We also collaborate with Social Services, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Nutrition Services and Pharmacy.

To help our nurses manage work and home life, we offer flexible shifts of 8 and 12 hours.

Continuing education is a priority on Three North. This begins with new hires, as we dedicate eight weeks to orientation with a preceptor. We continue to promote professional growth with all staff and are proud that eleven of our RNs are certified med-surg nurses.

We also share our expertise with others by serving as a clinical site for several nursing programs, including Shawnee State University, Rio Grande, Ohio University and Scioto County Joint Vocational School.
