Maternity Services
Your delivery, your way
At SOMC, we want you to have your baby your way. You choose who you want present during labor and delivery and how often friends and family may visit. We use a patient-centered approach to care, which means we keep you and your family in the center of the experience. If you would like siblings to be present during delivery, we have special, age-appropriate classes to help prepare them.
Creating the perfect environment
You have been preparing for your special day for a long time, and so have we. We designed our Maternity Department with every mother’s comfort in mind. Each of our 14 birthing suites has oak furnishings, a warm atmosphere, VCRs and CD players, along with modern, state-of-the-art equipment ready for whatever needs may arise. We have electronic fetal monitors and computers at every bed to assure a safe delivery environment. This private room is yours for labor and delivery. You and your new baby will stay in this same room until your discharge to go home.
Knowing you’re in good hands
Peace of mind comes from knowing that you and your baby are being cared for by professionals with years of experience. Our staff of dedicated physicians, nurse midwives, and nurses are specially trained to meeting the needs of both mothers and infants.
Keeping you and your new baby safe
Safety is a priority at SOMC. While friends and families are welcome, random access to the Maternity Department is limited and closely monitored. Our security system is state-of-the-art, keeping both you and baby safe. To also safeguard your privacy, photos for Babies Online are not displayed until after you have been discharged from the hospital.
