Acute Rehabilitation Unit (CARF Accredited)
SOMC has a 20-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit located on the second floor of the Main Campus (map) , which offers all private rooms. This facility is accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) and offers an interdisciplinary approach for those patients needing rehabilitation services in an inpatient environment. We also provide an intense stroke education program and support group called Moving Forward and have stroke specialty designation from CARF. The unit served 566 patients in the year 2012 with a patient return-to-home rate of 76.2%. We promote high quality care and maintain patient satisfaction so that our patients/families would recommend our program to others. Our inpatient rehab program is comprehensive, working to help each patient achieve his or her fullest potential so they can return to an independent life in the community.
