FPatients, visitors, families and community members are invited to visit our Cancer Resource Center in the SOMC Cancer Center, off the main lobby, to obtain the latest information on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The office provides information through education, and Internet access. You can receive information on programs and services provided by information provided by our volunteers.
Sometimes, the only person who can possibly understand what you are going through is someone who has been there.
The group meets every other month on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
For more information or to join the mailing list, call our Breast Health Navigator, Kim Richendollar at 740-356-PINK (7465) or email email@example.com.
Through the grant we also provide screening mammograms to eligible uninsured, or underinsured women, through a screening process managed by our Breast Health Navigator.
We have resources to assist with breast biopsies of uninsured women, and other diagnostic testing as needed.
Eligibility is determined by:
- Income no greater than 200% above Federal Poverty Guidelines
- No health insurance of any type
- No Medicare or Medicaid
Services for mammography and biopsy are provided as long as the funds remain. For this reason, services should be coordinated with the Breast Health Navigator Kimberlee Richendollar RN, BSN before they are performed.
Kimberlee can be reached at (740) 356-7465 (PINK)
In collaboration with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Columbus Affiliate and Ohio University.
Donate to the SOMC Patient Compassion Fund and Breast Cancer Patient Compassion Funds
The SOMC Cancer Center has developed two fund accounts to support cancer patients while undergoing active cancer care. These accounts are called the SOMC Patient Compassion Fund and the SOMC Breast Cancer Patient Compassion Fund. The SOMC Patient Compassion Fund supports all patients under active cancer care. The SOMC Breast Cancer Compassion Fund is dedicated to the support of breast cancer patients.
The funds are supported by donations and are utilized for patient assistance needs such as utilities, medications, transportation and common necessities needed during cancer care. The social worker from the Cancer Center collaborates with the Cancer Center Director to determine the needs and allocations of the funds.
