Ben Littleton has been named Manager of Systems and Network Administration at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He will lead a team of eight professionals and some of his primary responsibilities will include system server support, network administration and security, email management and information technology asset management.
Littleton has worked at SOMC for 10 years. An Elliott County native, he is a graduate of Elliott County High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Morehead State University. He and his wife, Beth, have two children and reside in Greenup County, Ky.
Jordyn Thiel, a 2008 graduate of Minford High School, has been named the recipient of the Mildred E. Thompson Scholarship through the Friends of Southern Ohio Medical Center.
The award is a $1,000 scholarship given to a high school senior who has placed service above self as a well as maintained a higher-than-average grade point average. The award is named for Mildred Thompson, long-time Clerk of Courts of Scioto County who has exemplified volunteerism all her life. The scholarship goes to students who have shown outstanding efforts in community service over a period of time.
In addition to various academic and athletic awards, Thiel has been active in Big Brother/Big Sister; National Honor Society; Red, White and Youth; Quiz Bowl; Salvation Army; and church youth group activities. Theil plans to attend The Ohio State University.
Dr. Terry Johnson, Assistant Dean for Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, is proud to announce that Rodney A. Crock, DO , has been appointed to the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine.
Dr. Crock received his medical degree from the Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine and his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University. He completed his residency at SOMC. He has been practicing at SOMC since 2004.
