Minford Students Donate “Sew Alice!” Quilt to SOMC PediatricsPosted on February 15, 2011
Students of Lori Rolfe’s eighth-grade class at Minford Middle School recently created and donated a “Sew Alice!” themed-quilt to the Pediatrics Department at Southern Ohio Medical Center. The quilt was made during a three-week artist-in-residency program with Fabric Artist Kate Gorman, who helped the students handcraft the design based on Lewis Carroll’s story, “The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland.”
The quilt will be displayed in the Pediatric Unit and is intended to brighten the day of all young patients during their hospital stay. Pictured at the presentation are Julie Hiles, RN, BSN, assistant nurse manager of SOMC Pediatrics and the Emergency Department; Jason Ross, RN, BSN, nurse manager of SOMC Pediatrics and the Emergency Department; and Sharee Price, talented and gifted supervisor of the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center.
