National Cancer Survivors Day Set for June 2Posted on 05/31/2019

The 32nd Annual National Cancer Survivors Day will be observed on Sunday, June 2.

As the National Cancer Survivors Day website states, this day “is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community.”

We take this special day to honor those whose lives have been impacted by cancer. The courage of all who have battled, and those who have been there to support them, does not go unnoticed.

“It overwhelms me when I reflect on the massive number of cancer survivors right now in the US, approximately 17 million! Wow! I look forward to the day when we find the cure,” said Wendi Waugh, SOMC Administrative Director of SOMC Cancer Services and Community Health & Wellness.

This observance is “a day for everyone, whether you’re a cancer survivor, a family member, friend, or medical professional,” the National Cancer Survivors Day website states.

We celebrate each of you not only on June 2, but every day!
