SOMC Celebrates Veteran’s DayPosted on November 11, 2010
Southern Ohio Medical Center celebrated Veteran’s Day Nov. 11 with a program honoring those who have served and continue to serve our country, in particular veterans employed by SOMC.
Randy Arnett, SOMC President and CEO presented opening remarks and Jason Coriell of SOMC Pastoral Care, gave the invocation. The Boy Scouts of America, Troup 12 chartered to the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, presented the flag. Pictured is Emily Gollihue from the West High School Choir, leading the crowd with the Star Spangled Banner.
Bobby Blanton, RN of the SOMC Rehab Care Unit sang two patriotic songs and veteran Dr. John Kasper was the keynote speaker. Following Dr. Kasper in the program was the West High School Choir and Chuck Kurtz from SOMC Biomedical Engineering, performing Taps.
A special thanks to the more than 100 people in attendance, the West High School Choir, the Boy Scouts of America and most of all, the veterans.
