Southern Ohio Medical Center has been awarded a Telly Award for 2011. As part of the 32nd Annual Telly Award competition, a video created by SOMC’s Visual Media Specialist Andrew Dodson was selected by the The Telly Awards and Silver Telly Council to receive this prestigious honor.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1978 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV commercials. According the Telly website, non-broadcast video and TV program categories were later added, leading to 200 categories for entries. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies.
Dodson created a special tribute video for Veterans Day, November 10, 2010. The touching memoir features SOMC employees who are veterans reflecting on their experiences in while on active duty or at war.
“It was an honor to make this video for Veterans Day,” Dodson said. “All veterans are heroes and they deserve to be recognized. I hope this video demonstrates our appreciation for their service.”
