- You and SOMC Imaging can send and receive exams from an affiliated hospital directly into your imaging account. Simply sign in through your web browser to see all your exams on any computer, and instantly share them with doctors and specialists as needed.
- Upload past exams from your personal discs to your account. Safely keep your information for 45 days in your imaging account.
- Instantly share your medical exams from your imaging account with your current doctor or anyone else important to your care planning.
- Your privacy is protected. When using your account, all internet communication between your web browser and the PowerShare network is securely encrypted to ensure that no one can see your medical information. This information will never be disclosed or used without your consent.
- Your medical records will never be accessible to anyone, except for people who you have specified. The access you grant to others can be revoked at any time.
- You can view your images via Nuance PowerShare Request Images. You can also request them Monday – Friday from 8am to 4:30pm by contacting:

- SOMC has a 24 business hour response to send your images to your account.
- Nuance PowerShare App is available for apple & android.
- You can to create your own profile by navigating to the Nuance PowerShare home page, then click on Register.
- Create and complete your patient profile, making sure to note the email and password you choose. You will use this to log into your account in a few moments. Follow the instructions, making sure to check all the boxes for Terms & Conditions along with HIPPA at the bottom of the page before clicking “Continue”
- Go to your personal email to confirm the registration.
- Once signed back in, you will need to add Southern Ohio Medical Center as a contact
- Go to Contacts Tab
- Click on Add New Contact
- Under the Required Category select Hospital/Imaging Facilities
- Under the Optional type in the following:
- Name: Southern Ohio Medical Center
- Zip: 45662
- Click on Search
- Once you see Southern Ohio Medical Center out to the right Click on the Invite and another box will then appear
- Check the box for the acknowledgement of the following:
- I hereby electronically sign a HIPPA release
- Allow [email protected] to upload to my Image Folder
- Once accepted you will be able to request images.
SOMC will also send you an email titled, “Invitation to join Southern Ohio Medical Center’s image sharing network.” This email will contain instructions on how to set up your Nuance PowerShare Network Account.
Method 1: Images can be requested by contacting Medical Imaging or the Breast Center during requesting hours Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm. See the contact information for either department below:

- Click on the Request Images under the Common Tasks
- Under the Account type – start typing Southern Ohio Medical Center – it will pop-up so you can click on it
- You will need to fill in all information pertaining to the Patients information then click on Next
- The next screen is where you will need to put what exams you’re needing from SOMC to be shared with you. Fill in the information to the best of your ability.
- Image Information: Routine
- Optional Information that will be needed:
- Image Date: If exact date is not known then approximate date
- Description: Give us a description or the name of the procedures that you’re wanting to receive.
- Click on Send Request
- Before your able to view the actual image, you will need a “token” which will be sent via email in your messages from SOMC
- Copy down the token number from email and then go back to the image tab and put the token into the area marked “token” If you lose your token code, call 740-356-7730(Breast Center) or 740-356-8638(Medical Imaging) to have a new code assigned. Your images will then be viewable – Check the box to the left of your image, and then select “Basic Viewer” on the right hand side of the screen.

- When the image pops up, right click on the image and select “copy image” then save it to your personal computer. You will have to click on each image to save them all.
- Click on “Download DICOM” to save all images. The system will ask if you want a “Viewer” click on yes, it will then create a folder for you to save to your desktop. This will be the preferred method to burn the images to a DVD if you need to take to another facility or physician.
