Acute Rehabilitation provides a variety of therapy services to patients during their stay in the hospital. These services include inpatient physical, occupational, audiological and speech therapies. It is the goal of acute rehabilitation therapies to complete a timely evaluation, assist in discharge planning and promoting mobility in an effort to reduce hospital debilitation.
Acute rehabilitation therapy is started at the earliest possible phase of illness during the inpatient stay. The staff works with nursing, social services, physicians and other rehabilitation staff to provide quality care and effective discharge planning.
In addition to conventional rehabilitation services, SOMC offers several non-skilled services that may be beneficial to the patient including the ambulation program or the maintenance program.
