The use of telemedicine has been expanding rapidly over the past few years. The current COVID-19 pandemic has increased its implementation for the health and safety of patients and staff. SOMC is now utilizing this option to create a safe visit for patients and providers.

What is the purpose of telemedicine?

Telemedicine’s intended use is for non-urgent care including cold symptoms, nausea, sinus issues, etc. and follow-up appointments. Telemedicine is not a replacement for emergency medical care.
